Some of the Addy's I have seen on e-bay look really dark, and others look much lighter and have rosey cheeks. I am wondering if it is a PM vs M thing, or if it is just lighting. It looks like more than lighting to me. Some of them are really shiny and some are not shiny at all. Is the shine from being handled a lot? I have only seen one Addy in real life, so I have nothing to base comparison on. Thanks!

Probably, The oldest Samantha dolls have a different skin tone than the ones Mattel makes now, so yeah you could be right about Addy.

I don't know what the difference is between PM and M Addys. I can tell you, though, that getting decent pictures of my Mattel Addy is extremely difficult. Her skin tone always looks much darker in pictures than it is in real life. If the lighting and angle isn't just right, her skin looks so dark that it's hard to really see what her face looks like. So yes, a lot of the skin tone differences could be due to pictures/lighting. I have yet to take a picture of my Addy that accurately shows her true skin color.

It looks as though your PM Addy has a rosier complexion; is she rosier in real life too?

Usually the PM Addy dolls are rosier in the cheeks.

My Addy is mattel. She was purchased from AG last year. She is VERY dark. So dark that you can't see her features at all. I put some make on her and she is prettier now.

Yes my sweet Addy has a lovely rosy complexion. Her skin tone is coffee colored with faint oink cheeks. The Mattel Addy is kind of gray-ish skin tone and much skinnier than my little chubbette.
